unscroll is a content curation platform that helps people discover and share web content. This Content Policy outlines what is and is not permitted when submitting links, creating collections, and interacting with the community.
By using unscroll, you agree to abide by this policy. Violations may result in content removal, account warnings, suspension, or permanent bans.
1. Our Principles
unscroll is built to surface the best of the internet. We hold all user-contributed content to a standard that keeps the platform safe, constructive, and worth spending time on.
- Quality over quantity. We favor content that informs, educates, or inspires.
- Safety first. Content that harms, exploits, or endangers others has no place here.
- Respect. Users should be able to engage with the community without fear of harassment or abuse.
2. Prohibited Content
The following types of content are not permitted anywhere on unscroll, including in collections, submitted links, profile information, and collection descriptions.
2.1 Illegal Content
- Content that violates any applicable law or regulation
- Links to pirated media, software, or copyrighted material distributed without authorization
- Content promoting illegal drug sales, weapons trafficking, or other criminal activity
2.2 Sexual and Exploitative Content
- Sexually explicit or pornographic material
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form (zero tolerance; immediately reported to authorities)
- Non-consensual intimate imagery
- Links to adult entertainment websites or cam sites
2.3 Violence and Harm
- Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites violence
- Gore, graphic injury, or gratuitous depictions of death
- Content promoting self-harm or suicide
- Threats of violence against individuals or groups
2.4 Hate and Discrimination
- Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or immigration status
- White supremacist, neo-Nazi, or extremist propaganda
- Slurs or dehumanizing language directed at protected groups
2.5 Harassment and Abuse
- Targeted harassment, bullying, or intimidation of other users
- Doxxing (publishing private personal information without consent)
- Coordinated abuse or brigading against individuals
- Impersonation of another person or entity
2.6 Misinformation and Deception
- Content deliberately designed to spread false or misleading health or safety information
- Phishing links or social engineering attempts
- Malware, scam sites, or deceptive redirects
- Fraudulent schemes or financial scams
2.7 Spam
- Bulk submission of low-quality or repetitive links
- Links submitted primarily for self-promotion or advertising
- Misleading titles or descriptions designed to attract clicks
- Automated or bot-generated submissions
3. Collection Guidelines
Collections are a core feature of unscroll. When creating and sharing collections:
- Titles and descriptionsmust accurately represent the collection's contents
- Collection codes must not contain offensive language, slurs, or references to prohibited content
- Cover images must be appropriate and not contain prohibited visual content
- Public collections are visible to all users and should meet a higher standard of quality and relevance
We reserve the right to make any collection private or remove it entirely if it violates this policy.
4. Profile Guidelines
Your profile represents you in the unscroll community:
- Usernames must not impersonate others, contain slurs, or reference prohibited content
- Display names and bios must follow the same content standards as all other user content
- Profile photos must not contain sexually explicit, violent, or hateful imagery
5. How We Enforce This Policy
5.1 Automated Moderation
All user-submitted links go through an automated review pipeline that includes:
- Domain-level filtering against a blocklist of known harmful sites
- URL resolution to detect disguised links via URL shorteners
- Keyword analysis for harmful content indicators
- AI-assisted content classification
Links that fail automated review are either rejected immediately or held for manual review, depending on severity.
5.2 Community Reporting
Users can report content or other users directly within the App. Reports are reviewed and acted upon. Available report categories include:
- NSFW content
- Spam
- Harassment
- Hate speech
- Violence
- Illegal content
- Other
5.3 Consequences
We apply enforcement actions proportionally based on the severity and frequency of violations:

| Severe or illegal content | Content removed; account permanently banned; reported to authorities if applicable |
Escalation thresholds:
- 3 or more links blocked within a single week results in an account warning
- 10 or more total blocked links results in account suspension
- Content receiving multiple community reports is prioritized for review
5.4 Appeals
If you believe your content was removed or your account was actioned in error, you may contact us at support@unscrollread.com with:
- Your username
- A description of the content or action in question
- Your explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect
We will review appeals and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
6. Third-Party Content
unscroll links to content hosted on third-party websites. We do not control or endorse the content on these sites. While we filter links at the point of submission, we cannot guarantee that all linked content will remain appropriate over time. If you encounter a previously approved link that now violates this policy, please report it through the App.
7. Copyright
If you believe that a link shared on unscroll infringes your copyright, please contact us at support@unscrollread.com with:
- A description of the copyrighted work
- The location of the infringing link within the App
- Your contact information
- A good-faith statement that the use is not authorized
- A statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury
- Your signature
We will investigate and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable copyright law.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Content Policy as our platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated through an updated "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, in-app notifications.
